about Stephen Davis
Stephen is a resident of Madison with his wife Clo. Sons James and Jacob live and work not far away, in Cambridge and Marblehead, while Gabriel, the youngest, is at grad school in Washington, DC while following in his grandfather’s footsteps as a member of Rotary.
Clo has been involved for years in local arts and culture programming, including as a board member of the Guilford Arts Center.
Having grown up in town, Stephen is a former chair of the Deacon John Grave Foundation; founder of the 1982 bicentennial Battle for Madison Committee; founder of the Madison Phone Fairness Committee (which expanded toll-free calling–remember when it was just Guilford, Clinton, and Killingworth?); former trustee of the Country School, and former member of the Madison Economic Development Commission. He also served for four years as legislative director of the State Senate majority caucus in Hartford. More recently, he was president of Congregation Beth Shalom RodfeZedek in Chester.
Today, Stephen is a Senior Fellow at Harvard Law School’s Program on Corporate Governance.
