It was less than three years ago when I first met Linda Palo. Over coffee, she painted a picture of the kind of store that was lacking on the shoreline: smart clothes, small designers, awesome shoes, curated by someone who knows her stuff, and unlike anything that can be found this side of NYC.
And she wanted to create it in Madison. In one of our buildings.
We talked about the risks and other spaces available. But she had seen 69 Wall Street, and it fit her vision perfectly.
This July marks two years since Linda opened her one-of-a-kind boutique. Before Moxie, before the Madison Wine Shop, she was making Wall Street the place to be. Now we’re seeing that block of Madison come alive like never before, and Linda deserves a lot of credit for that.
Even better, she has created a place to shop that is truly irresistible. Just ask my wife Katie, and all the folks we’ve brought there who’ve ended up walking out with a handsome black Robertson Madison shopping bag on their arm.
Happy Anniversary Linda, and many happy returns!
